Alliance Golden Cross
In the Lore of Energy and Light® universe, the Alliance of Planets (Alliance) is a coalition of races who came together to combat the Valker threat. Long ago, the Alliance started as a group of nine “concerned planets”. Their past experience led them to believe that stopping the Valkers sooner rather than later was the best option. They were right. Darkness quickly spread across galaxies. More planets decided to join the “treaty of the many”; agreeing to fight under a common symbol, with common representation that governed policy (Counts).

The common symbol of the Alliance is a golden cross. It is an eight-pointed cross with the vertical axis and horizontal axis shorter than the diagonal ones. The Alliance Golden Cross has a solid sphere at its centre. The sphere is the generic symbol for a planet, and the eight arms of the cross represent each of the founding planets in the Alliance. However in book 1: Quorum Treaty, Landen Dark whispers to himself:
“Nine planets in the beginning, so why does our symbol not represent them all?”
So it appears that the origins of the golden Cross are unclear.
Forces fighting for the Alliance are often called “Warriors of the Cross”, or are referred to as fighting under “a Cross of gold”. This is because their royal blue armour bears a large golden Cross on the back. The Alliance Golden Cross is also branded on the hulls of spaceships, other crafts, and sometimes painted onto walls of buildings.
“The enormous hospital ship Neurallia was floating in the distance. On its hull, a gold eight-pointed cross stood out on royal blue; each arm fanning out at its point. Smaller ships hovered in a line surrounding the larger transports.”
The Alliance Golden Cross is a powerful symbol of hope for citizens, and a standard to rally around on the field of battle. Its shining rays are a beacon of light holding the impending Valker darkness at bay – but can it stand firm against the biggest threat the Alliance has faced in history?
